Arrest warrant against Harvey Weinstein accuser Rose McGowan

Cops say it tested positive for narcotics.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department said in a statement on Monday that on February 1 it had issued the warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

She claims that officials are "trying to silence" her and are using the arrest warrant to do so.

On Friday McGowan gave a rousing speech at the Women's Convention in Detroit, Michigan where she talked about her rape allegation against Weinstein and the ensuing fallout of the scandal. The platform, however, said its moderators had suspended McGowan's account only because she shared a private phone number-a violation of Twitter's terms of service. McGowan did not explicitly state who she believes is trying to silence her, but several others have agreed with her sentiments.

"Our police have endeavored to contact Ms. McGowan so she can show up in a Loudoun County Virginia court to react to the charge", Yingling said.

McGowan has been leading the charge against disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein and his alleged history of sexual misconduct.

On Sunday, she told the New York Times, through a lawyer, that "someone close to Mr. Weinstein" offered her $1 million if she signed a nondisclosure agreement.

The warrant for possession of a controlled substance has been entered into a national law enforcement database.

The 44-year-old has been rallying her so-called #RoseArmy and victims of sexual harassment and assault to come forward. "I'm just like you", McGowan told those at the event, who she at one point referred to as "me toos". "I will support you always #RoseArmy".
