Donald Trump blasts 'loser terrorists' behind London train attack

On Friday, Trump also tweeted that the internet must be "cut off" to stop further terrorist attacks as it was a "recruiting tool".

His assertion that the London attackers "were in the sights of Scotland Yard" was either the revelation of shared intelligence or what the Prime Minister called unhelpful speculation.

Moments after the news started spreading across the world, US President sent several tweets including one in which he advocated his travel ban and another which said that "those involved in the attack may have been recruited on the internet".

The London Ambulance Service says 18 people have been taken to hospitals with injuries, thought to be life-threatening.

US President Donald Trump has used the latest terrorist attack in London to promote his beleaguered travel ban on residents of six Muslim-majority countries, The Independence reported.

Mr. Trump also tweeted that his administration had already "made more progress" against the Islamic State than President Barack Obama's administration had in eight years.

Khan and Trump publicly feuded following the June attacks after the US President misconstrued a statement from Khan saying there was "no cause for alarm" due to the visible police activity following the incident.

May, when asked directly about Trump's tweets, responded in a broadcast interview: "I never think it's helpful for anybody to speculate about what is an ongoing investigation". "Must be proactive!", Trump said through his Twitter account. While the police have declared it a terrorist incident, there is no word yet on whether any arrests have been made.

Trump wrote the tweet in response to news of an explosion in London on an underground train during morning rush hour.

A senior US government official cast doubt on whether Trump was privy to information over whether the bomber in the west London attack was known or not. He said "we have to be very smart".

The Trump administration and groups challenging the travel ban are preparing for a Supreme Court showdown on October 10 on whether the president had the authority to impose his executive order in the first place.

Britain's official threat level from terrorism stands at "severe", the second-highest rung on a five-point scale, meaning an attack is highly likely. Officials have said the 90-day period will expire in less than two weeks, and Trump will face a critical decision on what to do about the ban's future.
