Trump blames Qatar for funding terror

- Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan approves troop deployment to Qatar.

The president of Turkey has called for a resolution to the dispute between Qatar and other Arab and Gulf states by the end of Ramadan.

"The nation of Qatar unfortunately has historically been a funder of terrorism at a very high level", Trump told reporters at the White House on Friday.

"We have been isolated because we are successful and progressive". Schaefer told reporters German diplomats were in touch with the state department and security council officials to clarify the U.S. stance.

They are united in their fear Qatar's alleged ambivalence towards Tehran and were galvanised by US President Donald Trump's recent tour of the region.

He called on Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt to ease blockade on Qatar.

"We're not anxious about a food shortage, we're fine. We can live forever like this, we are well prepared", Sheikh Mohammed said.

More than a third of the world's liquefied natural gas trade comes from Qatar, making it the world's largest producer and exporter of LNG.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who met him in Moscow on Saturday, expressed concern at what he called the "sharp deterioration in the situation in the Arab world", and said Russia would do what it could to ease the situation.

Saudi Arabia and its allies today welcomed an accusation by President Donald Trump that Qatar was bankrolling extremism but ignored a separate U.S. call for them to ease their economic blockade. That's even after Kuwait's emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah flew to Qatar to discuss the crisis with officials.

- Etihad Airways says Qatari nationals will not be allowed to board flights to Dubai or Abu Dhabi because the UAE has banned them from passing through its airports.

"The emir has no plans to leave Qatar while the country is under a blockade", the official told Reuters. Their services would be paid for out of the $2.5 million fee, according to the contract, which also says that Ashcroft, who was attorney general from 2001 to 2005 under President George W. Bush, will lead the effort.

Trump had asked Tillerson to help mediate the crisis, and the secretary has been calling his counterparts in the region to "de-escalate" the situation and resolve their grievances. The move is a sign of support for the Gulf state in its dispute with its regional neighbors.

"The feeling here is that it is going to take a while to fix. It is more about preventing things from getting worse", said one diplomat in Kuwait, whose leader was in both the UAE and Qatar on Wednesday for consultations.

Qatar would not yield to it, he said. Like that of Berlin. A declaration of war. Any decision to change the peg would essentially be political rather than economic. "We need to put everything in check".

Trump too had offered possible mediation earlier in the week.

Qatar has angered its neighbours for years by supporting the Brotherhood, a decades-old underground movement that calls for rule based on Islamic principles. Gulf monarchies and Egypt's government also view Islamist groups as a threat to their rule.

"For Qatar, we want you back among the unity of responsible nations". In a preliminary report published late on Wednesday, the investigators did not say who they held responsible for the hack but said that both Britain and the United States were helping with their inquiry.

The al-Jazeera headquarters in Doha, Qatar.

The crisis began in part over what the Qataris described as a false news report planted during a hack of its state-run news agency.
