London Bridge attack: What we know about the attackers

US President Donald Trump again attacked London Mayor Sadiq Khan in a tweet yesterday.

Trump's comments drew widespread scorn in Britain, but the U.S. leader went on the attack again on Monday, saying in a tweet: "Pathetic excuse by London Mayor Sadiq Khan who had to think fast on his "no reason to be alarmed" statement".

President Donald Trump's sons are backing their father in his one-sided Twitter feud with London Mayor Sadiq Khan - sparked by his response to the London Bridge terror attack on Saturday.

Although Khan has responded to past attacks from the president, he has refrained from doing so this week, with his office saying on Sunday that the mayor "has more important things to do than respond to Donald Trump's ill-informed tweet".

Khan, who became the first Muslim mayor of a major Western capital city when he was elected in 2016, in October called Trump's campaign pledge to ban Muslims from entering the United States "ignorant".

Trump's comments caused outrage among British officials, many of whom call London home. There are many things about which Donald TrumpDonald TrumpLondon mayor calls for cancellation of Trump visit to UK Dan Rather: "Trump's response to London attack "careless" Qatar split raises problems for USA with Iran, ISIS MORE is wrong".

It's "wrong" for people, including US President Donald Trump, to say otherwise, she said.

Politicians in the United Kingdom on Monday called on the prime minister to withdraw the invitation for Mr Trump's state visit later this year.

Mr Trump said in a tweet.

"I don´t wish to enter into a row between those two individuals who are I think are probably perfectly able to stick up for themselves", he said of Trump and Khan.

"There's no reason to be alarmed", he says.

Seven people were killed and 48 others injured in the attack on Saturday. "No reason to be alarmed".

The Foreign Secretary said it was "absolutely correct" to say that the numbers of constables and armed police had come down since 2010, after Culture Secretary Karen Bradley repeatedly refused to answer the question on Good Morning Britain on Monday.

"What Donald Trump did in response to the British tragedy was, again, I think, inappropriate for a toddler, much less the president of the United States", Rep. Jim Himes of CT said on CNN's New Day.

"Notice we're not having a gun debate right now, because they didn't kill with guns".

"Cuts on this scale would make it harder to foil future terrorist attacks on our city and as Mayor of London I'm simply not willing to stand by and let that happen".

Meanwhile, one of the men responsible for Saturday's attack is believed to have appeared in Channel 4 documentary The Jihadis Next Door past year. "President Trump's attack on him is unacceptable".
