Move can take Spurs to last level - Pochettino

David Moyes Sunderland will only accept'really big offers for Jordan Pickford

Tottenham Hotspur played their last game at their old stadium on Sunday, beating Manchester United 2-1 thanks to goals from Victor Wanyama and Harry Kane.

He added: "We've just got to next season go out and try and win some trophies, and go into the new season as proper title contenders and players who can win trophies".

With the legends out in the centre a local choir sung "Oh When the Spurs" before a tenor belted out an unfamiliar rendition of 'Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur'.

Harry Kane said he was thrilled to score what proved to be the last winning goal at White Hart Lane. By the time they are playing in the new home, they'll hope to have delivered Tottenham's first league title since 1961.

Earlier Liverpool kept their top-four destiny in their own hands as Philippe Coutinho's double earned them a 4-0 Premier League victory at West Ham United that moved them back above Manchester City into third place.

Many observers feel Tottenham will not be as strong next season due to leaving their home stadium, with Wembley a far cry from the tight pitch and intense atmosphere of White Hart Lane, where they dropped just four points in 2016-17.

"We play a different style to West Ham. I think I am very lucky guy because to share the history of such a club in that special moment is so lucky to be here", he told reporters after the match.

Spurs will play their home fixtures at Wembley Stadium next season while their new home is built.

"In the Premier League we can only finish fifth or sixth, I think", said Mourinho, whose team's 25-game unbeaten run came to an end in north London last weekend following a 2-0 defeat at Arsenal.

A ceremony featuring figures from the club's past will take place after the game and fans have been offered the chance to buy their seats for £50 ($64.40, 59 euros).

The construction teams have already been working on the new ground for most of the season and there is no room for sentimentality as the old White Hart Lane is tore down to make way for the rest of it.

"But we're going into bigger and better things, and the new stadium is going to be unbelievable".

Speaking to SFR Sport on Sunday, he said: "I've been at Tottenham for five years, and I've always found White Hart Lane unique".
